I flew to Sydney to do this wedding for the lovely alicia and haydn. The ceremony was on the beach south of Sydney near Wollongong with spectacular views of the the coastline on one side and the grand escarpment that is Stanwell Tops on the other.
The reception was held at their 5 acre home in Kentlyn, Sydney's best kept secret. During the set up, the resident koala made itself known and spent the evening festivities in a nearby tree munching on eucalyptus leaves.

group exhibition in fitzroy

So a few talented designers and artists got together and had an exhibition at SJS Gallery in Fitzroy. Together we themed the event around reycling materials and protecting our beaches and seas.
I spent a few weeks collecting some washed up materials around Melbournes shoreline, collected some grasses from industrial areas and selected some blooming beauties from the flower wholesaler. I then spent a day in the gallery constructing an installation at the entrance of the space. excellent fun.

I used dotter vine and drift wood, moss, dried lotus pods and lotus leaves to try and receate the aridness and brittleness of dehydrated vegetation that is a coastline. I worked in long strips of bark and palm seeds.
Using fishing line and old rope, I tied and knotted clumps of driftwood and various things together. I gave the grasses a windswept effect by smoothing them all in the same direction.
